WINDOWS COST LIST
Soundproof windows are your best solution for beating noise complaints in your property. Whilst there are certainly cheaper options out there, there are none more comprehensive.
The following is our complete soundproof windows price list. As each property is a different shape and size, and all of the products we stock are built to order, it’s almost impossible to give you an exact cost for one of the units. However, using generic dimensions we have outlined the starting prices in order to give you a rough estimates of your potential soundproof windows costs.
Noise Reduction Sash Windows Costs
We stock two options for noise reduction sash:
Both of which are designed to combat noise complaints from all sources, and to be installed in properties of all shapes and sizes. Where they differ is in noise reduction values, with the Soundproof option offering a reduction of between 36-38 dB and Silent Line option offering a noise reduction value of 40 dB.
It may seem that with such a small difference in noise reduction that the windows should be similarly priced. However, the decibel scale is a logarithmic scale with base 10, which means each increase of 10 units (say 30 to 40 decibels) actually means a power increase of x10. As such, scaling from 38 to 40 dB requires more refined technology (which itself required far more research time), and materials better equipped to reduce noise pollution in your home. The results are considerably audible, and we recommend Silent Line products only to those whose budget allows for them, or whose noise complaints demand them.
NOISE REDUCTION CASEMENT WINDOWS COSTS
We stock two options for noise reduction casement:
Both casement windows are designed to order and can be scaled to fit in any property and to deal with noise complaint of any source. The soundproof casements come with either a 36 or 38 dB reduction whilst the Silent Line option offer a 40 dB reduction in noise pollution.
As above, the price point differs on these windows due to the fact that decibels are measured in a logarithmic scale (click here for a full explanation of how sound works). As a rough rule of thumb, we suggest soundproof casements for those whose noise complaints are medium to high, and the Silent Line range for those whose budget is larger and whose noise pollution level is high.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SECONDARY WINDOWS
Only available for casement units, High Performance Secondary Windows work by placing a secondary window unit within your existing frame. Designed to combat severe noise pollution, these additional windows will add a further 51 dB to your existing double glazing. Though they compromise on sill space, and aren’t the most attractive solution, they certainly offer the best noise reduction values around.
