The Soundproof Windows is a London-based acoustician-led specialist in bespoke timber soundproof windows, acoustic doors and high-performance secondary glazing. We work with homeowners, architects and specifiers to solve serious road, rail and aircraft noise problems, particularly in period homes, listed buildings and conservation areas, without compromising the architectural character of the property.
WHO WE ARE
The Soundproof Windows were built around a simple idea: serious noise problems need properly engineered solutions, not generic replacement windows. From the beginning, our focus has been on combining acoustic expertise, technical design and high-quality timber joinery to create windows and doors that perform exceptionally well while still respecting the character of the property.
We are a specialist company with roots in both craftsmanship and acoustics. That combination allows us to take an engineering-led approach to each project, looking carefully at the building, the type of noise and the practical constraints before recommending the most suitable solution. OUR APPROACH
Every property, noise source and client brief is different, so our process begins with understanding the problem properly. We take an acoustics-led, practical approach to each project, looking at the building, the type of noise, and the most suitable route to the right solution.
Initial assessment
We begin by understanding the property, the likely noise source and any planning or design constraints. In many cases, this starts with photos, rough sizes and a desktop review before a site visit is arranged.
Acoustician-led survey
Where needed, a trained acoustician visits the property to assess the existing windows, take measurements and evaluate the noise issue more closely. This allows us to make a considered recommendation based on the property and the problem, rather than relying on a standard sales approach.
Tailored recommendation
We then specify the route best suited to the property and the client’s priorities, whether that is bespoke replacement windows, high-performance secondary glazing, or a combination of both.
Manufacture and detailing

When sourcing new suppliers, we also seek out businesses that are also doing their part. Whether it’s getting rid of paper, planting a tree for every order or donating to forest conservation, we want to ensure that our products are ethically sourced and of the highest quality.
