A calm, engineer-led path to a quieter home.
Most of our clients come to us feeling stuck. You have likely tried draught seals, heavy curtains, or even standard double glazing, yet the noise continues to dictate how you live in your own home.
Our process is the antidote to the “hard sell.” It is designed to be clear, technical where it counts, and reassuring throughout. You will be guided by an acoustics-led team, not a salesperson with a script.
1. Initial Enquiry & Desktop Assessment
We start with science, not sales. It begins with a quick call or email. To ensure we are useful immediately, we’ll ask a few practical questions:
- Property context: Postcode, property type, and listing/conservation status.
- The noise source: Is it low-frequency road rumble, sharp rail noise, or overhead flight paths?
- Your pain points: Which rooms are worst, and at what times?
- Ventilation: How do you currently get fresh air (vital for bedrooms)?
The Desktop Assessment: Before we even visit, we use your postcode to perform a desktop assessment. We cross-reference your location with our library of site measurements and local noise data.
- What we need from you: A few photos and rough brick-to-brick measurements.
- The Result: We produce a sensible first estimate based on real data, not guesswork.
2. Provisional Estimate (1–3 Options)
Clear pricing before we step through the door.
Based on your initial data, we send a provisional estimate with 1–3 recommended options. We don’t believe in hiding costs. You will see:
- Performance: Which option targets your specific noise profile (e.g., blocking deep bus rumble vs. high-pitched voices).
- Cost Drivers: Exactly what affects the price (finishes, access, scaffolding).
- The Baseline: What is included as standard vs. what is optional.
3. On-Site Acoustic & Window Survey
Meet your Acoustician.
If the estimate fits your budget, we book a site survey. This is where the guesswork ends.
You won’t meet a surveyor; you will meet a trained acoustician equipped with professional hardware.
What we do during the 90-minute visit:
- Measure Everything: Every opening is measured to the millimetre for a final manufacturing specification.
- Real-World Noise Readings: We use a professional NTi XL2 acoustic analyser to take readings that reflect real life, not marketing claims:
- LAeq: The average noise energy over time.
- LAFmax: The peak “events” (the specific loud noises that wake you up).
- Frequency Spectrum: To determine the “character” of the noise.
- Consultation: We discuss ventilation, aesthetics, and when a lower-spec option might actually be the smarter choice.
Cost: Surveys are free within the M25. For properties outside the M25, there is a fee of £150 + VAT, which is fully refundable against your deposit if you proceed.
4. The Noise Report & Final Quote
Buying an outcome, not just a window. Within 48 hours of the survey, you receive a comprehensive package:
- The Noise Report: A translation of our data into plain English. We explain what we measured, what it means for your sleep, and why we are recommending a specific solution.
- The Final Itemised Quote: A fixed price covering specification, finishes, installation, and waste disposal.
There are no hidden “extras” later. You will have the data you need to decide with total confidence.
5. Confirmation & Staged Payments
Transparent billing is linked to progress. When you are ready to proceed, we secure your manufacturing slot with a deposit. Our payment structure is designed to be fair:
- 50% Deposit: To commission materials and manufacturing.
- 25% Milestone: Due midway through the process.
- 20% Installation: Due when the project is on-site.
- 5% Retention: Payable 14 days after installation, ensuring you are completely satisfied.
6. Precision Manufacture (10–14 Weeks)
Bespoke specification, rigorous standards. Every window is unique. We maintain absolute control over the design, acoustic specification, and quality assurance, while our trusted manufacturing partner handles the fabrication.
- Why this matters: This separation allows us to focus entirely on the engineering and detailing of your unit, while ensuring the physical build meets our exact standards.
- Timeline: Typically 10–14 weeks (depending on order volume). We keep you informed and lock in an installation date as soon as the unit passes our quality checks.
7. Installation
One out, one in. Never left exposed. We treat your home with the same care we would our own.
- We don’t rush: We typically allow one full day per window. Soundproofing relies on airtight seals and perfect detailing; rushing these steps compromises performance.
- Security First: We operate on a “one out, one in” basis. Your home is never left insecure overnight.
- The Finish: Our quote includes internal making-good (trims, architraves, and neat sealant lines). We don’t leave you with a jagged wall.
- Disposal: We remove and responsibly dispose of all old frames and glass.
8. Sign-off & Aftercare
This is where we shine. Once installed, we walk you through the operation, ventilation features, and maintenance of your new windows.
- The Guarantee: All products come with an insurance-backed guarantee (up to 10 years) via the Consumer Protection Association.
- The Check-in: We follow up after the settlement period to ensure the acoustic performance is changing your life exactly as we predicted.
PROJECT TIMELINE
From survey to silence. Transparency is key to our process. While every project is unique, the timeline below illustrates the typical manufacturing milestones for a standard order.
Please note: Your specific installation window will be confirmed immediately following your survey and technical sign-off.
