GET YOUR REMOTE ESTIMATE

Before we can offer a precise quote, we’ll need a few simple measurements and photos of your windows. Our step-by-step guide walks you through exactly what to capture – so we can tailor our solution perfectly to your space.

Required Data for Your Acoustic Analysis

To provide a precise remote estimate, our acousticians need to model your specific situation. Please copy and paste the 6 questions below into an email to our technical team at sales@thesoundproofwindows.co.uk and add your answers:

1. Photos & Measurements: Have you attached photos and rough measurements? (See our guide below for how to capture these).

2. Property Location: What is your full address? (Essential for analysing all noise sources in your area. Note: We cover Greater London & M25).

3. Noise Source: What is the primary disturbance? (e.g. Air traffic, buses/trains, or general traffic).

4. Property Type: Is the property Freehold or Leasehold?

5. Conservation Status: Do you live in a Conservation Area or a Listed Building?

6. Contact Number: What is the best telephone number for technical follow-up?

MEASUREMENTS OF YOUR WINDOWS/DOORS - WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A measuring tape (please take measurements in mm)
  • A notepad and pencil
  • A camera or smartphone
  • 1 – 2 minutes per window

FOR SASH WINDOWS

  1. Take a photograph of the window that you are measuring.
  2. Measure the window on the interior (inside the house) using the measuring tape to measure the entire box frame, including any architrave and sills.
  3. Take two measurements, the height and the width.
  4. Many period buildings feature a small arch or curve above the sash window, please include a measurement of the arch (measuring it at its highest point – in the middle).
  5. Repeat this process for each window and then send us the photograph(s) and corresponding measurements. Please include any unusual details, areas of damage or other anomalies that will be useful for our assessment and quote.
