Soundproof Sliding Doors

Living in London there are two major problems: space and noise. But thanks to our soundproof sliding doors, neither need be a problem anymore. Designed to optimise available floor space, our sliding doors have been purpose-built to keep noise intrusion to a minimum, boasting market-leading reductions of up to 51dB.

How Our Soundproof Sliding Doors Work

Noise wants to be heard and will always look for the easiest path to reach your ear. In most cases it will find an air gap to squeeze through. Failing that, it will find the most susceptible material to pass through.

We stop noise by ensuring that there are no pathways around the door through which noise can propagate, and use acoustically tested materials to stop sound dead.

Acoustic Glazing

Our soundproof sliding glass doors come equipped with acoustic glazing, coated in a layer of PVB to absorb noise.

Acoustic Sealants

Acoustic sealant is used during manufacturing and installation to plug any gaps in the frame and structure.

Multipoint Locking

A multipoint locking mechanism creates an air-tight seal around the door, closing out any air gaps.

Acoustic Sliding Doors

Our soundproof sliding doors are the perfect way to let light in and keep noise out, especially when space is at a premium.

Choose to add toughened or safety glass for that added peace of mind.

Our sliding doors come with a secure multi-point locking system as standard.

Rated A+ for thermal efficiency, our laminated glazing also blocks UV radiation.

All of our soundproof sliding doors are made to order and, as you know, perfection takes time. Before manufacturing begins, we need to survey your property, which will be scheduled in the first couple of weeks. From the time the order is placed until installation generally takes between 10-12 weeks.

  1. How do you soundproof a sliding door?

Our soundproof sliding doors focus on the following key areas to prevent noise intrusion:
    – The glazing. All of our soundproof sliding glass doors come installed with acoustic glazing, which dampens noise and works against common noise complaint frequencies.
    – The seals. We use acoustic seals around the door to prevent air gaps forming.
    – The tracks. Our sliding doors open along tracks that have been treated to form an airtight seal when shut.
    – The locks. Multi-point locks create a truly airtight seal around the whole door frame, not just where the handle is positioned.
    – The installation. Using a variety of acoustic materials, our experienced installation team prevents both noise transference through the structure and vibration of the door itself.

  2. Where can your soundproof sliding doors be installed?

Our sliding doors can be installed both internally and externally, and are typically installed in:
    – Extensions
    – Kitchens
    – Office spaces
    – Between living areas

  3. Can I soundproof my existing sliding door myself?

Yes and no. There are plenty of products that you can buy to help soundproof your doors, such as acoustic caulk or seals to plug up any air gaps. However, due to the complicated mechanisms that ensure the sliding doors can be easily operated, it can be tricky to soundproof a sliding door optimally while still ensuring it remains functional.
Other products like noise deadening curtains can be installed that won’t affect the doors functionality, but will have an almost negligible impact on noise. In cases where noise intrusion is a real problem, and either keeping you up at night or disturbing you throughout the day, we highly recommend installing professional soundproof sliding doors for truly impactful results.
